Been in a funk.
Haven't had the desire to write about anything despite all that is going.
I did take this picture today of our butterfly "willy carter" (that is what the kids named it). We had the joy of going on a monarch caterpillar hunt, found one, and watched it progress into a beautiful butterfly over the past 3 weeks. It was very neat.

every year when it is fair time we know that summer is quickly over, that school is starting and that fall is upon us. fall is my favorite time of year but I am sorry to see summer slip by for yet another year as this also means that winter is next... yuk. maybe I should be a southern girl after all??
one of my goals this fair was to get some nighttime shots. I went with a friend to do just that. We were total dorks but set up our tripods and went at it. We were there until after midnight. Well we didnt arrive until after 9pm so I guess that is not so bad. We ate, we laughed and we took pictures. People were asking us if we were with the paper. lisa of course said yes. gotta love her! :)
anyway, because the fair is over and as I said above summer is over I will conclude this post with some of my night time fair shots. cant wait for next year when I will have a better camera.

I cant believe school starts in 3 weeks. Dwight's parents arrive here from NY on Thursday and are staying thru the weekend. We have a wedding in NH to go to on Saturday. In two weeks Dwight's brother and family are coming to visit for a few days and we are all going to the big fair here in our area. School starts two days later. I just cant believe summer is coming to a quick end...

My girl is about to turn 7. She is having an "American Girl Party" at the movie theater with her friends. They will be enjoying the Kit Kittredge movie together. All the girls are bringing their own AG dolls. It should be real cute.
Today Hannah received the new AG magazine in the mail. She hasn't stopped talking about it and for the longest time wouldn't put the mag down. Had to take a pic of my true IRL American Girl. She is as close to a doll as I have found :) I cant believe my baby is turning 7. Truly time has escaped me.
I have been having a hard time getting back into the groove since returning from vacation. I need to find my groove and dig in. Seriously, I need to find it. So send me some grooving would you?? :)

our vacation was good. it was very rainy in florida. I kinda expected some rain but not as much as we had. it was good family time. I was able to meet up with some fun and fabulous hop girls. we also met up with dwights best friend from middle school and high school and his family for an evening of fun as well. it is great to be home though! i think we brought the sunshine home with us! YEAH! lol
july is going to be a very busy month. a lot going on...here is a little snapshot of our month at a glance..

I find it so comforting to know that my children are developing friendships at such a young age. Some of their friends they have had since before pre-school (Hannah & Mason both went to pre-school together actually and here they both are going to be 2nd graders). I think that this is so cool.
Growing up I moved around too often to ever experience consistent childhood friendships. I made friends easily but then the next thing I knew we were moving again.
Today I was watching a friend of mines three kiddos while she did some work at the office. They are all such sweeties. In between the rain showers we had some sprinkler time in the back yard... before coming in I had to take the opportunity to take their picture. One day I hope that they will look at this picture and have some giggles. Each of their individual personalities shine through in this photo.

I am working from my laptop in the basement due to some nutty weather going on since about 2pm this afternoon. The temperature literally went from 90ish degrees to 76 in a matter of 15 minutes. It was so odd. Anyway....
Bigger news....
Hannah is now a 2nd grader! PHEW!! Today was her last day of school and summer vacation began at 12:45pm today! Along with bringing her dwarf hampster in for show and tell my fabulous friend Christy once again provided me with her fabulous cookies for Hannah's classroom snack today... if you are local (or even if your not, these cookies rock and you should order some! ) lol. SO YUM-O!

Just a Happy Anniversary to my hubby and I. We are celebrating 14 years together today. It has certainly been a journey. I love you Dwight!

We have been busy here at our house. Nutty busy. I come
home every day from work very tired and ready for bed at
8pm. Only three more weeks though and I am done at the
church offices. I have enjoyed it. But I know we are going
to enjoy summer a whole bunch too! Should be so good!
So I am going to trade in my camera. I found a place that
will take it and I cant wait to do it actually. I will soon be
a Nikon girl. My love affair with my Canon has ended. Hmmm
maybe it never really started... who knows. Nonetheless, I
can’t wait for a new baby to play with J
Oh and I have CS2~! Lovin’ it. Will love it more I am sure
when my pal Lisa comes over to show me how to actually
USE this wonderful program!

She doesnt stop growing. I know though she shouldnt. Each day I see new glimpses of the young woman she will be. She steals my heart when I least expect it. She is growing faster than I wish. Growth although healthy is scary too. This mommy thing is far more challenging than I ever imagined it would be. Wouldnt trade it for the world. Wouldnt trade her for the world. I just want to hold on to today. Bottle it up and hold on to it forever. I am not quite ready for the future yet. I have more growth in me to do first too. Isnt that the best thing though... God knows what we can handle and what we can't. I am so glad I have that truth to rest my soul. Having a little girl is such a wonderful fabulous joy. Embrace your joys every day. xoxo

Has anyone ever done anything really special for you? Someone hand-made this bench for me. I cry just knowing all that it stands for. It isnt just a bench to me. It represents so much more to me. It truly is one of the best gifts I have ever received in my life. No it wasnt my birthday or any other holiday when gifts are typically given. It was made for me "just because". Wow. I am truly touched and will always be grateful for this bench.

yeah that is about right. ever since i started covering at the church offices life has been very crazy. it is nice to see old pals i used to work with and all that jazz but i certainly miss my every day more simple life before filling in as the office manager for the gal on maternity leave. it is only until june. that is what i keep telling myself. . it is a good thing at the right time. everything in life is about timing isnt it? yup.
.a few tidbits of my last couple of weeks.
.matthew turned 4. . hannah was sick. .in-laws visit was ok - not great- but ok. .had a real estate deal fall through. .had my hair cut. .birthday parties. .brownies dance party. . went to vt teddy bear factory. . went to beauty and the beast (fabulous btw). . hannah has a school concert, very cute. . took a real estate class on mortgages. .

Today is my sweet baby boys birthday! He turned 4! Not a baby so much obviously but gosh sometimes I wish he was still a baby. They do grow too fast. I love you Matthew. You are the best little boy in the whole world. I love you from the tip of your head to the bottom of your toes.
I have been in a big time scrapping void. I havent had much desire to scrap but do need to keep up on it. I like the way this one came out. I used the new Dream Street papers and American Crafts Thickers. You can purchase these scrapping products at the amazing online store House of Paper. I love this little girl. The journaling says it all.

I have started a 20 hour a week position as the office Manager at our church offices. Just covering until June for a gal who is having a baby and will be on maternity leave. I also have a couple of real estate deals going so I have been a very busy gal. I am certainly keeping very busy with those two jobs and the photography gigs are starting to call again since the weather should be warmer up here soon. It will get warmer here right??? At least we have had some sunny days. I love seeing the mountains so crisp and clear in recent days.
This weekend Matthew has his little birthday party with friends. I cant believe he is about to turn 4. Nuts.
Easter was good. Pretty quiet. We did church on Saturday night. That was real nice. Gave us a chance to enjoy Easter morning together as a family. The kids loved their baskets. All the candy is gone. Here are a couple of pics of the kids during the day on Easter. Hannah never really dressed up that day since she had already done that the night before. 
Oh and we also re-did our 1/2 bath downstairs... ok Dwight did it (and he did a fabulous job). Here is a quick pic of that. Now just need to find something for the walls in there, a basket or something for magazines and some new soap! :)

* Hannah and I hit a milestone last night. She has been struggling in math BIG TIME. Money counting. So, we kept going over it and over it and it seems like finally she "got" the concept of counting the dimes by 10's the nickles by 5's and the pennies by 1's... she was actually counting change by the end of our little "homeschooling session" and we were both just thrilled! I picked her up and danced around with her. She loved that. When she got up this morning she said, "mom, I think I am getting it, maybe I will like math afterall. lol. too cute for words!
* Girl Scout Cookies have temporarily taken over my life. LOL. No seriously, who would have known it would be this much work to be involved in cookies sales? At least most of our deliveries are done. Phew.
* My little baby boy is turning 4 soon. Yikes.
* I have had this mirror in our bedroom closet for say... 7 or so years sitting on the floor... Peg was over yesterday and I brought it down and she figured out the perfect spot for it in our house. She is great at that stuff. Problem is as we were unscrewing the mirror currently on the bathroom wall we realized that baby was not only screwed into the wall but glued onto the wall. How do get the mirror off without killing myself? lol.
* I have lots of home decorating "ideas" in my head. Now just need some $$ and someone to get the stuff done. How do green cabinents sound to people??
* Need to do some real estate classes in order to keep my license current. Fun fun.
* Doing some more spring cleaning.
* Need to get our rental car squared away for our trip to Florida. :)
* Ice skating this weekend with the Brownie Troop.
* Irish Dance Festival downtown on Sunday-- Hannah does this every year with her grandpa. She loves it.
* Need to set up our annual camping with friends. We did this last year and our kids and Peg's kids keep talking about it. The loved the campfire, sleeping in little cabins in their sleeping bags, running around playing in the trees, eating ice creams... good.fun.I.tell.ya.
* Easter is near.
*I wish the snow was gone. It is snowing out now as I type. Yuck.
*Starting to plan some for the Woman of Faith conference in Boston this summer. Good stuff.
*Parent Teacher Conferences are next week.
* Going to be doing some painting in this house. Dwight doesnt know it yet but I have big plans. lol

You know how life can sometimes just stroll along with out many worries or concerns? It is often in these calm and even content times that I find I lack big time in my prayer life.
I also find that when I am overwhelmed or when things are not going so well that I then begin this need to pray. Latley I have had many many people in my life that have needed prayer for one reason or another. I try dilignetly to lift people up in prayer. Especially when they ask. I do believe in the power of prayer. I know it works. I also know that where two or more come to pray for someone or something it makes it that much more powerful.
I would like to ask for those of you who pray as well that you would pray for these few people as they are needing healing, comfort, a miracle, peace. Whatever it is, I hope you will join me in praying for them.
* A friend of mine who is having an ultra sound tomorrow (Wed) around 1pm. She has suffered from 5 miscarriages over the past 2 years. She did not get great news last week with this 6th pregnancy. She is hoping for a miracle and a heartbeat tomorrow.
* HERE is a link for a father who has taken a fall and needs to be healed from his injuries.
* A 9 month old baby girl who just suddenling stopped breathing last Friday and passed away shortly after. Pray for this family that they find peace through this trying time.
* For the soliders who are away from their families.
* For Sophia's mother.
These are just a VERY FEW that I have seen needing/requesting prayer over the last couple of days. I know there are A LOT more.
I also try to remember to pray for my friends. You never know what they may be struggling with. For parents, siblings, our children, my husband, for our health. The list could go on.

do you ever wish you could go back to a time ago? just a little bit? maybe a lot? I do. a lot.
lots of reasons why. i could have made different choices. i could have some re-dos. i would certainly keep some stuff just the same. we only have one chance in this lifetime to make a go of it and then it can all be gone in a matter of just a moment. i havent been living that way. i forget all too often that this is it. ..one life.. one gift of life per person. i have a lot to do. i am thankful for life today. i am thankful for god's grace. i forget all too often that i have a purpose. we all have a purpose. i'm off to find mine. i am so glad it is not too late to start.
I have totally been in a scrapping funk. I think since I moved all of my supplies upstairs I basically dont feel I have a space to scrap. Certainly not a space that inspires me to anyways. Everything is in the corner of our bedroom. Not near the printer, not near the computer. Anyways, because I have the luxury of being on a design team I do need to scrap despite my less than ideal space to scrap in. Here are my two recent projects. I *heart* October Afternoon. You can shop at HOP to pick up yummy scrapbooking products. Chiara has fabulous turn around times on orders and she has fabulous customer service. :)
Life still in a bit of "unknown territory" for us. Just taking it day by day. I have learned that life doesnt slow down or stop but that life still happens whether we are ready or not. I know, novel thought huh? Just thinking out loud here so hang in there with me :) I wish I could fast forward a bit... or even sometimes hit the pause button. Obviously going back is not an option so we wont even go there.
I am in not only a scrapping funk but also a photography funk. I am just not inspired right now. So no fun new pictures to share.

So Brownies tonight. Going over cookie sales stuff. I am trying to think up a few little crafty things we can do with the girls too. If anyone has any ideas let me know :) The girls just love crafts!
I about died yesterday. Matthew and I were outside waiting for Hannah's bus to come. He was riding his bike etc. Well, she didnt get off the bus. Can anyone say "MOMMY FREAK OUT MOMENT". Holy cow. I screamed for Matthew to get in the car. I ran inside and sure enough the school had called and said she missed the bus. I was thankful that was all it was and jumped right in the car to pick her up. Poor sweetie, her face was all flushed from crying and being upset. She was happy to see us :)
We have a busy weekend coming up so I am off to get some things done while Matthew is napping. He even walked up to his room and got into bed to take his nap without even telling me today. He turned the tv off after his show and went and crawled into bed. What a sweetie he has been.

as I was chatting with my long distance online pal Kristi my sweet little hannah was complaining of a tummy ache. I kept telling her to go to the bathroom. she did but ended up being really sick. my poor little sweetie. she has thrown up six times now (updated 9:30pm). I hope she is done. so I set her up in her bed with the "samantha" movie and hopefully she can rest up nicely without any more sickies...so say a little prayer for her to be all better ASAP.. thanks :)

some of the things that make up my children's everyday lives... like their bedrooms. I am going to go back again and retake photos in each of their bedrooms since there are some additional photos I would like to capture but this little storyboard is just a glimpse. It is also to serve as a personal reminder to myself to go back and take those other photos as well. I know that I will forget years down the road as I am sure they will too so this is my way of capturing today for them and for me. They grow too fast not to. Silly this would be to some but not to me. Change happens. Growing up happens. I dont want to miss it!

Family party was so fun! So nice to see everyone! Everyone changes so much over just one year. Really makes you realize how important it to to take pictures! I cant imagine life without a camera! Hannah is getting her first camera for Christmas. I am starting her off young :)

The decorations are up. The tree is decorated. I love our family room at Christmas time. I received my Christmas gift early this year. Gotta love the Federal Express truck :) He delivered me a new lens for my camera. YEAH.

Matthew and I have a lot of time together with Hannah being in school full day this year. I often try to take his picture but he is not such a willing partcipant in my photography adventures so when I get a cute one I must share. Yes he still has chocolate on his face in this picture but I like it anyways :)
I have been keeping pretty busy. My mom is doing well overall following her surgery which is great. She still isnt getting around super well yet but that will come. I am doing all her laundry now as she has a good few weeks before she should be do anything like that. No lifting etc. Her spirit seems to be getting better with each passing day. Good to see that.
We have a big weekend ahead. Tomorrow a Christmas show at church. Going with some friends to that. Have our annual family reunionish type gathering on Saturday morning brunch style at my aunts house. Following that Hannah has a birthday party to get to and I have to do some engagement pictures for my cousin. Saturday evening my bff is coming over with her family for dinner. Sunday church and then the kids and I get to hang out all day while Dwight is off ushering for the Christmas show all day again. Busy times.
I need to start wrapping presents. I still have a few others to pick up. About done though which feels great.

I did this fun little layout. As soon I saw the journal at Barnes & Noble the other night I knew I had to have it (stop laughing Peg). I scanned the journal and printed out the print onto white cardstock to be my patterned paper. It is just so fun and whimsical :) I knew the picture I wanted to use for it as well. It was like it just came together natutally. Now that is called scrapbooking from the heart! I used part of one of my favorite songs "I hope you Dance" and ta da... done! Oh and I used some basic grey letter stickers for the title.... I.am.loving.this.layout.
Another little project I did that was fun was making a Christmas wreath for the holiday decor week over at HOP. I used Scenic Route papers and a glue gun for this one :)

For whatever reason all this recent snow has really caught me off guard. I dont remember it arriving so early in years past. I guess it is almost December but geesh.. anyway, our view from our front door...

I have to share what my little guy said tonight.. he told me that I was his hero... ok now if that doesnt melt a mother's heart what would?? wowzers. love my kids!
so we booked our summer vacation -- we are going to florida! first time matthew will fly in an airplane. the first time hannah did was when she was a year and a half. I havent flown since then either. we were able to get three out of the four airline tickets with dwights frequent flyer mileage so we are happy campers about that. so what is weighing HEAVY on my heart about this big trip???? cmon' take a guess?? yep, my weight... I wanna look like this again
nope I wasnt a skinny girl here but I was much healthier and lighter. My hope is to be able to wear shots again... I havent worn shorts in at least 6-7 years. No, I am not kidding. So... the heat is on. It is not going to be easy. Breaking old habits is never easy. So please wish me luck. :)
My mother turned 53 today. Today we went to Kohl's to pick up Hannah some boots and then later I 
brought her out for some appetizers and conversation. We have had a rough year this past year but I do truly love her. I only hope and pray for a better year for 2008. I wish I had her blond hair and blue eyes! My brothers ended up with the blond hair and blue eyes too!

I have been sitting here much of my day thinking about the many things that I am thankful for. Rather than just think about them I wanted to share about some of the people who have made a difference in my life personally in more recent months. It feels good to let people know that they are loved. Each of these people have shown me they care and I want them to know that their kindness and friendships have not gone unnoticed... I really am so very thankful.... relationships are priceless to me....
Peg - you are the best. your friendship is one of a kind to me. i love you.

it is SNOWING!!! We awoke this morning to snow flurries! Matthew thought it was Christmas for some odd reason. Hannah just kept saying how beautiful it was. I must say I was less than enthused with the weather outside. Vermont has long winters. There is a lot you can get done though I guess when you have to stick near the house. :)
So because it is snowing and I am not ready for it I am going to share a beach pic/layout that I did recently that I love love love. This will keep me thinking "warm" just a bit longer :)
